American Airlines Is Set To Stop Social Distancing On Planes
American Airlines is saying goodbye to social distancing on their planes.
According to The Globe And Mail, “American Airlines will no longer restrict the number of seats sold on flights beginning July 1, in an effort to come back from the impact of the coronavirus.”

This decision comes after a meeting between various chief executives at major U.S. airlines, senior U.S. officials, and Vice President Mike Pence. During the White House gathering, they also discussed several virus-related travel issues, including press for government-administered temperature checks for airline passengers.
American previously limited seating capacity at 85 percent on each flight, which was about 50 percent of the main cabin middle seats. The outlet adds that American Airlines will notify customers if their flight is full, allowing them to move to more open flights.
Many on Twitter have strong opinions about this decision.

Well there’s a second wave in the making. #AmericanAirlines #COVID19 😐 It does not matter how much they clean the planes. As soon as one person gets on the flight that’s infected and breathes, it’s contaminated again. https://t.co/hANPt1UkSo
