Here’s How To Make Disinfecting Wipes
NOVATO, CALIFORNIA - MARCH 02: Shelves where disinfectant wipes are usually displayed is nearly empty at a Target store on March 02, 2020 in Novato, California. As fears of the Coronavirus are spreading, people are emptying the shelves cleaning supplies, protective masks and bottled water at stores in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am nearly out of disinfecting wipes so I decided to make my own. I use them around the house, and they’re safe to use on marble and granite. If I have to go to the grocery store, I use them to wipe down the credit card machine and any other surface my items come in contact with.
You’ll need:
-
individual paper towels or cloth squares (35 to 50)
-
Container or a plastic bag such as Ziploc to hold the wipes
INGREDIENTS
-
1 cup water
-
1 cup 70% rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol OR 120-proof distilled spirits (like Everclear)
-
½ tsp. liquid dish detergent adds cleaning power
-
8 drops of lavender or some other essential oil (optional)
