Are you spending extended time on your smartphone during the coronavirus pandemic? You might want to put it down once in a while.

According to health experts, you are at risk of developing a deformity known as “smartphone pinky” syndrome.

“The pinky finger bears the weight of the smartphone for prolonged hours leading to a condition that occurs when the little finger bends on the dominant hand,” reveals Dr Sachin Bhonsle, an orthopedic surgeon at Fortis Hospital Mulund in India.

To keep from this happening, Dr Bhonsle suggests shorter sessions on the phone, switching hands at periodic intervals, and taking breaks if your hand starts hurting.
