Happy Veterans Day and THANK you to all who have served and are serving!

On this honorable day, we'd like to mention a few, notable rock stars who have served in the military.

And thank you to all the veterans out there!

Jimi Hendrix

Jimi was in the Army's 101st Airborne Division.  He was honorably discharged before going to war.

Ray Manzarek

The Doors' keyboardist joined the Army and served in Thailand and Okinawa before being discharged.

Maynard James Keenan

The leader of Tool spent three years in the army.  He completed an enlistment before turning to rock.

John Fogerty

The Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman served in the Army Reserves before achieving rock success.

Johnny Cash

"The Man In Black" was a U.S. Morse Code intercept operator before his music career took off.  Weird factoid: it is said that Cash (because of his military position) was the first Westerner who learned of Joseph Stalin.
