Tool (Again) Ask Fans to Put Phones Away During Concert or Risk Ejection
This shouldn’t exactly be new for Tool fans, but once more for those in the back: Don’t take out your photo to take photos or video during a Tool concert!
Fan nielmot took to Reddit to share an email (below) they received before Tool’s concert yesterday (November 6) in Cleveland asking ticketholders, “We respectfully request that you please watch and listen to the show, not your phone. You will be ejected from the show without the opportunity to return and without a refund if you violate this simple request and elect to take photos during the performance. In the event of a personal emergency, phone use may occur on the concourse away from the performance area.”
“No cameras” is printed on the tickets, posted at every spot possible at the venues, posted by the fern, now I got a email reminding me no cameras. When is Maynard going to call me with a reminder?

Interestingly enough, though, Maynard James Keenan did allow fans to briefly take out their phones last night in Cleveland. Alternative Press Editor in Chief Jason Pettigrew shared via Instagram a photo from the show with the caption, “After the Cleveland audience was deemed ‘up to par,’ Maynard told security to stand down and let the audience check their mail.” Who knows what exactly led to Keenan bending his band’s own rule, but many fans undoubtedly would be interested so they can at least get one decent photo of the concert.
