For your protection.

It's getting into the Halloween season.

People are decorating, thinking about costumes, buying candy to pass out to all the ghouls and goblins that march through their neighborhood.

But what about the real-life ghouls that may inhabit our neighborhood?

Sadly, they exist.  But thanks to Meghan's Law:  Sexual predators have to register.

Here's how you can find out if a convicted sex offender lives in an area you might be trick-or-treating in this year:

  1.  Click the link below
  2. Click the "I Agree" underneath the big, red "warning" box
  3. Click "continue" on the pop-up window
  4. Click the box that reads "click here to search for offenders in your area"
  5. Enter the address where you'll be trick-or-treating

This is offered as a public service to everyone living and working on the Jersey Shore:  Stay safe!
