Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine took to Twitter to thank fans in a video message for all of their support since announcing last week he was diagnosed with throat cancer.

“Hi, I wanted to take a moment real quick to thank my family, friends and the best fans in the world for all your support and love the last few days. We’re gonna beat this thing together,” said Mustaine in the short clip.

Mustaine revealed his throat cancer diagnosis last week in a statement on Megadeth’s website. He said his doctors “mapped out a treatment plan which they fell has a 90% success rate.” Because of Mustaine’s diagnosis, Megadeth have been forced to cancel most of their 2019 tour dates, but they are still pressing on with the Megacruise, which is taking place October 13-18. The band is also continuing work on a new album, the follow-up to 2016’s Dystopia.
