Greetings, Earthlings.   East Side Dave (a.k.a. Darth David) here to give my two Sith’s regarding the brand, new, Star Wars trailer!

First of all, I absolutely love the title.  Disney and LucasFilm execs have been saying that Episode IX will conclude the “Skywalker Saga.”   Thus, I feel that it’s only fitting that, for the first time in Star Wars history, the name Skywalker is honorably inserted into the title.   It’s a nice tribute to the greatest family in the Galaxy.   And I think it is a clue that Luke Skywalker’s presence will certainly be felt in this film.   Could he be a Force Ghost…or maybe even rise from the dead?   It’s possible!

Let’s move on to the aesthetic that director J.J. Abrams (who also directed The Force Awakens) is going with.   Personally, I feel that the look of the movie is a total home run.   The sand planet that Rey and company are on (I believe that our heroes will be traveling to Tatooine), along with their outfits, creatures, and weapons have a Return Of The Jedi feel to them…and I think that’s a good thing.

And then there are two big returns.   First, the great Billy Dee Williams is back as Lando Calrissian.   HELL yes.   We like this.   And secondly, as the title came onto the screen at the end of the trailer, we here an evil, maniacal laugh…which clearly belongs to The Emperor!   Wait, they’re bringing back Emperor Palpatine?!   Oh, DOUBLE-HELL YES!!!   Excited, are we!!

My prediction is that the wreckage that the small band of Rebels/Resistance is looking at (around 1:39 in), is what’s left over of the second Death Star.   I think that it’s possible that the Emperor’s energy remained in that second Death Star…and perhaps he has survived as a Sith Ghost.

All in all, the movie looks tremendous.   I feel that Abrams is gonna create a fan-friendly, all-around entertaining, Star Wars movie that, perhaps, Episode XIII: The Last Jedi, strayed too far away from.

The FUN in the Star Wars galaxy is BACK, baby!   YES!
