Pearl Jam Named 2019 Record Store Day Ambassadors

Pearl Jam has been named this year’s Record Store Day Ambassadors.

Pearl Jam join the growing list of iconic rock artists named Record Store Day Ambassadors. Past ambassadors include Metallica (2016), Dave Grohl (2015), Jack White (2013), Iggy Pop (2012) and many more.

Record Store Day 2019 will be taking place April 13 at select independent record stores nationwide. A full list of exclusive titles will be released as we get closer to Record Store Day.

Pearl Jam published the video below to their YouTube page showing guitarist Mike McCready talking about the importance of local record stores.

"Independent record stores are hugely important to me, and have been ever since I was 12 years old," says McCready. "Before I even really knew what they were — there was a certain feeling of ‘this is a dream come true,’ and it’s a wonderland and there’s so much to learn in here… and it’s still that way."
