Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 has been singing the praises of Zombie’s upcoming album for some time now, and even referred to it around this time last year as “…definitely Rob’s ‘Sgt. Pepper.’”
So, what’s the latest on Zombie’s seventh studio album? John 5 recently appeared on Talkin’ Rock with Meltdown and had this to say:
“Yes, it is completely finished and all ready to go. I don’t see the artwork, because he does the artwork, but the music is mixed, mastered, everything. It is all ready to go, and it is a monster…It is so great, and it’s heavy, and it’s hooky, and it’s exciting! I hope people feel the same way…I don’t know when it’s gonna come out, but I’m thinking hopefully it comes out very soon…Everything’s scheduling. Rob’s working on a new movie right now, and he is the master of that stuff, because he gets everything done. He’s not one of those people that says, ‘I’m going to do this,’ but you never see it happen. If he says he’s going to do something, it will always come out.”
Zombie just shared via Instagram that he’s wrapped his latest film, 3 From Hell, saying, “It took a while to complete the trilogy but we did it. Top pic is shooting ‘House of 1000 Corpses’ in 2001 – shooting ‘The Devil’s Rejects’ in 2004 and finally shooting ‘3 From Hell’ in 2018. Quite a f*cking journey to say the least.”
Of course, whether 3 From Hell or this new album comes out first is yet to be determined. (Fingers crossed that it’s the album!
