About Those Two Senior Metalheads That Escaped a Nursing Home…
If you got a kick out of the story out of Germany about two elderly metalheads that broke out of their nursing home to attend the Wacken Open Air metal festival last weekend, the Associated Press has some updates.
Per the AP, turns out the two men in question were 58 and 59 and escaped a facility for “people with mental health issues.” Festival attendees found the two men “helpless, disoriented and intoxicated” at a bus stop at 3 AM that Saturday (August 4.) They were then treated by medical professions nearby and taken by taxi back to their home.
So, this wasn’t really a story about defiance in your twilight years after all, which is a definite bummer.
I don’t necessarily enjoy being a buzzkill, but even a lowly music blogger like myself still strives to tell the entire story. It’s the right thing to do. Frankly, I blame that Media Ethics course I was forced to take in my journalism degree program at Oakland University. Clearly, those lessons stuck.
