Jersey’s own Kevin Smith is recovering after suffering a “massive heart attack” last night. And we want to send Kevin our well-wishes!
The New Jersey native and skilled writer-director of such classics as Clerks, Mallrats, Dogma, Chasing Amy, and Zach & Miri was rushed to the hospital after suddenly feeling quite ill.
Doctors then discovered that Kevin had 100% blockage of a major artery to the heart (and that he was very close to death). Aye, caramba!
Luckily, Kevin was saved by his doctors…and we’re happy that one of the most talented film-makers to emerge from the Garden State is still with us!
We’re wishing a full and speedy recovery to Kevin!

After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka “the Widow-Maker”). If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground! pic.twitter.com/M5gSnW9E5h
