Did some new stuff… but the old stuff really held up well…
We’re really digging what U2 did at the Abbey Road Studios in London. Part of the press for their new album was to gear up with a choir and an orchestra for a few songs…
and they’re really worth your ears.
“All I Want Is You” is now one of the most passionate, romantic pieces the band has ever produced:
The often performed “With Or Without You” didn’t stray too far from the original. In our opinion, it could have gone further with the choir but the climax does really pay off…
The whole piece opens with “Beautiful Day”… A piece that really develops into a bird soaring with the addition of the choir and orchestra.
And this new track was also performed, “Get Out of Your Own Way. What’s interesting on this one, is Bono’s comments on how he sees his songs as letters… This one a letter to their daughters.
