Celebrating 25 Seasons of Delivering the Gift of Human Kindness!
In 1993 Holiday Express began its mission “to deliver music, food, gifts, financial support and friendship to those with greatest need for the gift of human kindness during the holiday season and throughout the year.” Much has changed in the years since the organization’s founding, however the need for compassion and generosity remains. Thankfully Holiday Express is there to answer that need.
The organzation of volunteers under the leadership of Tim McLoone performs approximately 100 concerts between early November and Christmas. There aren’t enough days in the season to accommodate each show, so often times the group performs more than 1 show per day, sometimes doing as many as 3 performances. Holiday Express will be in action right up to Christmas Eve.
Holiday Express spreads cheer with such mastery that it’s easy to take them for granted. However what they do is no small task. The volunteer organization often ventures into the forgotten corners of our community to spread holiday cheer. They play shelters, nursing homes, and soup kitchens, lifting the spirits of those in need during what might be an otherwise depressing time. To call the service Holiday Express provides invaluable would be nothing short of an understatement. Simply put: they are a light in the dark.
If you would like to Help Holiday Express in their mission you can do so by donating, volunteering, or serving as a sponsor. In addition to monetary donations, Holiday Express also accepts In Kind donations for raffles and gift bags.
Holiday Express will take part in the Rotary Polar Bear Plunge in Asbury Park on Saturday 1/27. Registration information is available HERE.
