Review: “Nature Boy” Is One Of The Best 30 For 30’s Ever
If you were not able to check out the brand, new, ESPN 30 For 30 documentary, Nature Boy, you must DVR it immediately!
The film is directed by Rory Karpf (the film-maker behind a couple of other excellent ESPN movies…a 30 For 30 called I Hate Christian Laettner…and the fantastic biopic Dale). Karpf created a masterful tale of a professional wrestler who completely blurs the lines between what is real, and what is theater.
The wrestler, Ric Flair, seemed to take over the man, Richard Fliehr, at some point in his life. And the results made for fascinating television…but also a troubled life.
Nature Boy reveals a story of a man who is so passionate about his profession…that he literally becomes the character he is portraying. And it also justly showcases why Ric Flair is considered one of the truly greatest wrestlers of all time.
In a nutshell, this is one of the best 30 For 30’s ever. Check it out!
