Five Bands and Their First Gigs
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA - SEPTEMBER 18: (L-R) Musicians Tom Hamilton, Brad Whitford, Joe Perry, Steven Tyler and Joey Kramer of Aerosmith pose at the press junket to announce their new album "Music From Another Dimension" and upcoming dates for their "Global Warming" tour at the House of Blues on September 18, 2012 in West Hollywood, California.
Aerosmith played their first show together 47 years ago today (November 6), and even though they have sold out arenas and stadiums all over the world, even “The Bad Boys from Boston” had to start somewhere.
In honor of this anniversary, here are five bands and some details about their first gigs.

Aerosmith played their first show at Nipmuc Regional High School in Mendon, Massachusettes. How did they land the gig? Joe Perry’s mom knew someone who worked for the school. Way to go, Mrs. Perry!
