After winning the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance for the title track from 2016’s Dystopia Megadeth has some momentum behind it — and plans to keep riding it.
In fact, bassist Dave Ellefson tells Italy’s SpazioRock that the group is already moving forward on new music: “We’re starting to just compile…the process usually goes we compile riffs, we compile lyrics, you kind of start putting it together, we start thinking. We’ve been talking on the bus at night about the process and the location and just kind of how we’re gonna do the next album…So it’s nice that we’re already thinking toward that. We’re gonna wrap up the tour in November, and then our intention is to go in and start working on the record after that.”
Dystopia marked the debut of new guitarist Kiko Loureiro, while Lamb of God’s Chris Adler played drums on the set. It debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Megadeth is currently touring in Europe with Scorpions.
