Get ready for a huge event celebrating the New Brunswick music scene! Hub City Sounds Rock New Brunswick 2017 is an annual 3-day music festival that will take place throughout New Brunswick from Friday 9/8 to Sunday 9/10. The festival features live musical performances, DJ’s, aerial performances and music panels. 3 of the 5 major events are free. WRAT and Jersey Rock are proud to serve as media partners for the event.
Here’s the breakdown of the festival:
Friday 9/8
7:00 pm – 9:00 pm: New Brunswick Music Scene Archive Rock New Brunswick Panel Discussion at Rutgers University Alexander Library, 169 College Avenue. Free Admission.
7:00 pm – 12:00 am: Alcohol-Free, All-Ages Rock New Brunswick Warm Up Party at 120 Jersey Ave. $5 Admission. Featuring: Mr. Payday, Spowder, Glazer, and Schwervon.
Saturday 9/9
8:00 pm – 11:00 pm: Alcohol-Free, All-Ages Rock New Brunswick Warm Up Party at NJ Skate Shop, 160 Easton Ave. Free Admission. Featuring: Neighborhood Watch and DJ Collective
Sunday 9/10
12:00 pm to 6:00 pm: ROCK New Brunswick Festival at Boyd Park, Memorial Parkway at Commercial Avenue. Free Admission. Featuring: Killer Shrimp, Vertical Fixation, Nalani & Sarina, DJ Don Dazzo, Cook Thugless, The Anderson Council, Silent Knight, The Band Called Fuse, Sharief In Burgundy featuring Sharief Hobley, and Hub City Stompers.
8:00 pm – 11:00 pm: Rock New Brunswick After Party at The Scarlet Pub. 21+, $5 Admission. Featuring: Experiment 34, The Turnbucklers, The Clydes, and Speed Queen.
Tune to Jersey Rock on 95.9 The Rat on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 11:30 pm for a preview of Hub City Sounds Rock New Brunswick 2017. Bob Makin, one of the producers of the festival will call in to the show each night. We’ll rock tracks from 3 of the festival’s performers: Hub City Stompers and Killer Shrimp, who are rocking Boyd Park on Sunday afternoon 9/10 as well as Experiment 34, who will take the stage at The Scarlet Pub that evening.
