Who’s ready to rock? YOU! YOU’RE ready to rock…with this list! It’s East Side Dave’s Top 5 Concert Movies!
The rules are simple…these are movies where great rock bands played live (thereby being a concert)…and the performance is captured on film. So, without further ado, let the list and subsequent name-calling begin!
5.) Woodstock
One could argue that Woodstock is the grand-daddy of all concert films. And we’re all lucky that it exists…so that Jimi Hendrix’s magical and historical performance is captured forever.
4.) The Song Remains The Same
Led Zeppelin’s amazing 1973 show in Madison Square Garden is shown in all its glory in this iconic flick.
3.) Pink Floyd: Live At Pompeii
What’s a list without a little controversy? Yes, this Floyd concert was done in an ancient Italian amphitheater in front of no people. But, the band is playing a live show…thus…it counts!! It COUNTS, baby!
2.) Rattle And Hum
U2’s 1988 film is packed with awesome performances from Ireland’s greatest band.
1.) Gimme Shelter
The greatest, all-around, music movie qualifies as both a rock doc and a concert film (due to the stellar live performances by the Stones at MSG and later Altamont). A truly-must see concert movie.
So, what do you think? What should be on the list? And which movie should be off it? Let us know at Facebook.com/959The RAT and/or Twitter.com/959TheRAT…and rock on!
