NEW YORK - JUNE 5: (L-R) Musicians Adam Horovitz, Mike Diamond and Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys arrive at the 11th Annual Webby Awards at Chipriani Wall Street June 5, 2007 in New York City. (Photo by Bryan Bedder/Getty Images)

Beastie Boys’ Adam “MCA” Yauch would’ve turned 53 today (August 5), and out of all the outrageous performances from the group’s early days, this wild appearance on The Joan Rivers Show in 1987 is something to behold.

After the Beastie’s performance of “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party),” MCA, Mike D and Ad-Rock then joined Rivers for a brief interview that yielded more than a few awkward moments.

Even in all of the awkwardness, this moment is simply classic!
