WATCH: Coldplay Perform Linkin Park’s “Crawling”
Coldplay had Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington on its mind as it began its North American tour on Tuesday night (August 1) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
Towards the end of the show frontman Chris Martin dedicated the concert to “anyone who’s missing someone” and played a solo piano version of Linkin Park’s “Crawling,” starting it twice after making a mistake at the beginning. As he finished Martin made a simple message of “Chester” before thanking the crowd.
Bennington committed suicide on July 20 at the age of 41; A funeral was held on Saturday (July 29) in California. Coldplay will be in North America through October 8.
