Just consider it a really fancy (and likely expensive) garage sale.

Reverb unveiled yesterday a new artist shop from Billy Corgan where the Smashing Pumpkins frontman is selling over 150 pieces of various gear he’s used on every album in the band’s catalog.  This stuff isn’t just random odds and ends; there’s amps, drum machines and a number of guitars that will be up for grabs starting August 16.

The people at Reverb are really excited about hosting this special sale and wrote in its announcement, “Over the past three years, Reverb has launched over a dozen official artist shops selling the personal gear collections of rock icons.  But the Official Bill Corgan Reverb Shop…is unlike anything we’ve done before…the provenance of the items make this shop required browsing for any Corgan fan, or, for that matter, anyone who cares about the history of rock.  This is the core gear used on the albums and tours all of which helped define Corgan as a musician.”

You can check out a preview of some of the items right now at Reverb.com.  You have a month to start saving for this sale; we suggest you begin now.
