The body does not perform as separate independent parts, but rather is interconnected and it all starts with proper control by the main system, which is the nervous system.
The nerves that travel from your brain, through your spine and out to the body, control every function of every single part of the body. The nerve signals can often be disrupted if the joints of the spine are not moving properly. This disruption in biomechanical integrity combined with altered function is what chiropractors call a subluxation.
There is a relationship between the spinal nerves exiting from the spine and branching off to different organ systems. Because of this, it is not uncommon for a chiropractor to treat a patient with neck pain to help alleviate their sinus problems, or treat a patient with lower back pain who also suffers from irritable bowel syndrome, or a patient with a subluxated sacrum who has been unsuccessfully trying to become pregnant… All without drugs or surgery.
