U2 News Round-Up: Opening Night Recap, Eddie Vedder Guests At Seattle Gig

U2 got its Joshua Tree 30th Anniversary Tour off to a triumphant start over the weekend in Vancouver, playing the album in its entirety for the first time ever -- and the first time U2 has ever treated an album like that.

The group started its 21-song show on a satellite "B" stage with a selection of pre-"Joshua Tree" songs, including "Sunday Bloody Sunday," "New Year's Day," "A Sort Of Homecoming," "MLK" and "Pride (In The Name Of Love)" before heading to the main stage for the "Joshua Tree" performance -- including its first performance of "Trip Through Your Wires" since December 1987 and its first of "Exit" since October 1989.

U2 finished the night with an assortment of post-Joshua Tree favorites on both stages ("Beautiful Day," "Elevation," "Ultravoilet (Love My Way)," "One," "Miss Sarajevo") before closing with "The Little Things That Give You Away" from the upcoming Songs From Experience, which has no release date as of yet.

…Meanwhile, the second show of the tour in Seattle saw Eddie Vedder make a surprise appearance during “Mothers Of The Disappeared” along with show openers Mumford & Sons.
