Jersey Rock Band of the Week: Kimon & The Prophets

New EP "Paper Airplanes" Out Now.

Kimon & The Prophets hail from North Jersey and feature a sound that blends elements of Funk, Blues and Rock.  Their influences include the likes of Sly Stone, Santana, James Brown, Stevie Ray Vaughn, ZZ Top, and Jimi Hendrix.   Listening to their music you can hear all of that and much more in their neo-70's style tunes.

Kimon & The Prophets have played across the area from East Rutherford to New York City and even as far away as Memphis Tennessee.  They competed there in 2011, representing the Garden State after winning the Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation Championship.

They are in action again at The Park Tavern in East Rutherford on November 25 and at The Bitter End in New York City on December 10.
