As Guns N' Roses rumors of all sorts continue to swirl, we have our first evidence that the group is planning to take its reunion overseas.
Billy Duffy of The Cult tells Vanyaland that his band has been tapped to open for GNR "at a couple of shows that are not in the United States -- I think I can say that -- I believe. I just found out." That could mean Canada, of course; Toronto was the only city north of the border on the list of locales GNR plans to play this summer in an announcement made last week.
The group -- which features a reunion of co-founders Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan -- has six shows coming up this month, starting April 8-9 in Las Vegas and including the Coachella Music and Arts Festival April 16 and 23 in Indio, Calif., and April 19-20 shows in Mexico City.
...Meanwhile, we're waiting to hear if GNR is going to play a club show tonight (April 1) in Los Angeles to warm up for the other dates. The list of possible clubs has expanded from the Troubadour to also include the Whiskey-A-Go-Go and the Roxy, all sites where GNR cut its performing teeth early in its career.
An announcement is expect this morning, with pandemonium to get tickets to follow -- unless it's an April Fool's prank which, given the nature of GNR, is entirely possible.
