The House of Blues on the Sunset Strip closing its doors after over 20 years was definitely surprising when the news broke about a year ago. What’s not surprising, however, is the band chosen to perform the last show ever at the venue.
Steel Panther, who used to be the HOB houseband on Monday nights back in the day, will be gracing the stage on August 3rd, four days before the club’s official last day. Per the band’s website, “other celebrity friends” are slated to stop by and perform, and considering some of the rockers that have performed with Steel Panther, this should be one hell of a show.
In a statement, lead singer Michael Starr said, “It's an honor and a privilege to play the final show at a venue with so much rock and roll history! When they tear the place down, I hope all our sex toys that have gone missing backstage over the years are found."
We hope so, too, Michael…we hope so, too!
