Hagar Responds To DLR’s “Credibility Issue” Remarks

It was only a matter of time before Sammy Hagar responded to David Lee Roth’s “credibility issue” remarks during a recent red carpet interview with Billboard, and boy…did he respond!

As reported by Ultimate Classic Rock, Hagar addressed DLR’s comments on his radio show Sammy Hagar’s Top Rock Countdown and said the following as he introduced a live cut of “Right Now”:

“The boys are out on tour — happily doing well, I hope, but they’re not playing any Van Hagar songs. My buddy Diamond said it was something about a quality issue. I laughed. I’m cracking up. You know, sometimes the guy says the wackiest things. But there’s a lot of truth in that. A quality issue — you think about that. Think about them with Diamond, singing this next song, it would definitely be a quality issue, OK? [Chuckles.] It would definitely be a quality issue.”

Did you just hear that?  That was the sound of Sammy Hagar dropping the mic.

Knowing Dave, we’re sure he’ll craft a clever response.  Who knows?  Maybe VH will include some “Van Hagar” tracks on the set list to prove Sammy wrong.  I guess we’ll have to wait until they kick off their massive North American tour on July 5th to find out.
