Dave Grohl Helping Fan With Cancer Cross Item Off “Bucket List”

What better way to head into the weekend than with a feel-good story courtesy of Dave Grohl?

The nicest guy in rock is helping out Aussie Foo Fighters fan Ken Powell, who has terminal cancer and missed out on a recent meet-and-greet opportunity in Perth, because Grohl was battling food poisoning, thus, leading to the cancelation of the scheduled meet-and-greet.

According Yahoo News Australia, a flight attendant on the Foos trip back to the U.S. knew of Powell’s “bucket list” wish to meet the band and told them about it, which led to them Powell receiving the picture message below, as well as some merch, a signed photo of the band and two VIP tickets to one of their two upcoming sold out shows in Los Angeles.

A GoFundMe page has been created to raise the funds necessary ($20,000) to fly Powell and his wife out to LA, put them up in a hotel and have money for food and other expenditures, with all funds raised after the goal going to the Melanoma Institute of Australia.  Since this story went viral, the goal has now been raise to $30,000, in order to raise more money for the Melanoma Institute, which has helped Powell in his cancer fight for the past nine years.

The Foos LA shows are scheduled for September 21st and 22nd.  We really can’t wait for this meeting to take place.  In a tour that will likely be full of highlights, this will surely be one of the biggest.
