Jersey Rock Artist of the Week: Lance Larson

Lance Larson is an icon of the Asbury Park music scene. From rocking The Stone Pony in 1970's with his band Lord Gunner to providing up-and-coming acts an outlet to perform at The Wonder Bar, he has made an undeniable impact on the Jersey Rock scene. Lance Larson released his first new album in 10 years back in December. "The Bridges We Cross" is a hard-rocking, soulful, shining example of the New Jersey sound. Jersey Rock: NJCASA Benefit Show

On Saturday 1/20 an all-female lineup of talented local musicians will take the stage at The Saint in Asbury Park to raise funds for the NJCASA, an organization that fights for victims of sexual abuse. Organized by Pamela Flores, the event will feature performances from Alexa Mazurkiewizz, Avery Mandeville, Tara Dente, The Vaughns, Hey Anna, Fiona Silver, and MACK.  Pamela Flores will call in to Jersey Rock on Tuesday at 11:30 pm to talk about the event.

Jersey Rock Band of the Week: Skyeline

Ocean County Alt Rock group Skyeline will perform at The Meatlocker in Montclair on 1/11 and The Saige Cafe in Philadelphia on 1/20. The band's debut album "Something About Your Basement" is out now. Tune to Jersey Rock on 95.9 The Rat on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30 pm to hear cuts from the disc. Singer Brittany Byrne will call in to the show each night!

Jersey Rock: Asbury Underground at Light Of Day Winterfest

The Asbury Underground will once again join forces with The Light Of Day Foundation for Winterfest. On Saturday 1/13 musicians, visual artists and stand-up comics will perform at 18 different downtown locations consisting of art galleries, cafes, shops, and restaurants. The crawl is from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm and is free and open to the public!

Jersey Rock: Light Of Day Winterfest Rocks Asbury Park

The Light Of Day Foundation's Winterfest rocks Asbury Park this week with a large number of events across the City By The Sea's many great venues. It all kicks off on 1/7 and continues from 1/11 to 1/15. All proceeds will benefit The Light Of Day Foundation, which seeks to defeat Parkinson's Disease, ALS, and PSP "through the awesome power of music." Asbury Park Indie Rockers Deal Casino are in action this Saturday 1/6 at The Asbury Park Brewery and Wednesday 1/24 at Arlene's Grocery in New York City. Their latest EP "Calidus" is out now.
