Gators prowl as Fay heads back to Fla.

Student killed in Tenn. school shooting
A student fatally shot a 16-year-old classmate during a dispute Thursday at a Knoxville high school, and a suspect was taken into custody moments later on a nearby street, authorities said.

At least one Long Branch councilman is seeking to abandon plans to redevelop a city beachfront area after a state appeals court issued a ruling last week that declared the three-street neighborhood is not blighted. A three-judge panel of the New Jersey Appellate Division on Aug. 7 unanimously reversed the June 2006 decision of Superior Court Judge Lawrence M.

Town has new weapon in battle against graffiti

Sayreville is beginning to see the benefits of a new graffiti-removal device and they may begin to rent it out to other communities and businesses in town. Earlier this year, Councilman Stanley Drwal spearheaded the purchase of a Farrow System graffiti-removing device for $46,000, half of which was paid for with a federal Clean Communities grant.


Oceanport rejects fort reuse plan

The Oceanport Borough Council rejected the Fort Monmouth reuse plan last week, with some council members calling for the borough to give up its fort property and opt out of plans for the future of the Army base.


Teens return with sense of accomplishment
