We are very heartbroken today as the world of rock has lost a truly gifted musician. Chris Cornell (notably of Soundgarden and Audioslave) has died at the age of 52 years old.
Cornell had one of the most remarkable voices in rock history. His range was absolutely staggering...and Cornell used it with an amazing power.
While Chris certainly will be remembered for his incredible work with Soundgarden, he also will be kept in our hearts for the tremendous music that he made with Audioslave, his phenomenal songs that he created with Temple Of The Dog, as well as his fantastic solo material.
Chris was also known to be an extremely kind and generous person...and had a reputation for being an encouraging and supportive guy (especially with other artists).
So far, the exact cause of his death is unknown. His representatives are calling his passing “sudden and unexpected.”
Quite frankly, we're still in shock...but we'll get you more details as they come. RIP, Chris Cornell...one of the greatest singers and passionate musicians in rock 'n' roll history.
