Report: Ivan Moody Says He’s Leaving FFDP

While no official statement has been released from Five Finger Death Punch, this upcoming tour could be the last featuring vocalist Ivan Moody.

Moody dropped the news in an interview with KPBI.  (Note:  The interview was shared on KPBI’s website, but it appears to be no longer there for the moment.)  In an excerpt transcribed and reported by Alternative Press, Moody said he’ll be leaving at the end of this year and starting a new band:

"To be completely honest with you, Death Punch and I have kind of come to a crossroads. We’re very proud of what we’ve done—years and years and years of work. It’s time for us to take our way and go do something else, so after this year... my new band, Villain... I’m so excited."

Moody’s relationship with his FFDP bandmates has been rocky, to say the least, with a lot of press stemming from an onstage incident in May 2016 that resulted in FFDP prematurely exiting the stage after Moody and drummer Jeremy Spencer got into an argument.

Once again, there has yet to be an official statement from the FFDP camp regarding this change.

(We’ll update this story as it progresses.)
