Dave's Top 5 Rock Movies!

Everyone loves a nice list.  1.) They cause debate.  2.) They create Internet anger.   3.) They make people turn on each other.

So without further ado, here's the very dangerous list of East Side Dave's Top Five Scripted Rock Movies (thus, rockumentaries are ineligible).  And if you vehemently disagree, feel free to send all angry emails, posts, and messages to Carl Craft.

5. The Doors

Directed by Oliver Stone, this psychedelic film tells the narrative of Jim Morrison and company as they rise and fall in the 1960's.

4. School Of Rock

This controversial pick is not as baffling as one might think.  The movie gets to the heart of rock 'n' roll in all its purity and innocence.  And the kids DO rock.

3. Almost Famous

The world of 1970's rock as told through a blissful teenager's viewpoint, this flick also has an absolutely killer soundtrack.

2. The Wall

Arguably Pink Floyd's greatest album, their musical masterpiece became a haunting and truly iconic film in 1980.

1. This Is Spinal Tap

When Spinal Tap first came out, people heard stories that any band who saw the movie thought it was directly about them.  Although a comedy, it must have struck a nerve with real rock artists!

What do you think?  What movie(s) should be kicked off this list?  And what should they be replaced with?
