Incubus is offering the latest taste of its upcoming album, 8, with a lyric video for the track "Glitterbomb."
It's the second song to be released from the album, due out April 21, following the single "Nimble Bastard."
Frontman Brandon Boyd tells us that he and guitarist Mike Einziger came up with most of 8's material after producer Dave Sardy rejected initial material the band presented to him:
"We had almost an entire album already written and we showed it to Dave Sardy, who produced this record, and he was like, 'Yeah, this is pretty cool. We're gonna start over,' and we scraped it. We started over and we spent the next six months, just Mikey and I, holed up in a little shack that we rented in Venice Beach, and most of that between Mike and I was just drinking coffee and talking and then playing acoustic guitar and piano and just coming up with, like, this framework for most of this record."
Incubus will be promoting 8 with a tour launching July 6 in West Palm Beach, Fla., with Jimmy Eat World and Judah and the Lion.
