Tech Fest is an annual fundraising concert hosted by the Ocean County Vocational Technical School’s Performing Arts Academy Tech Club, an organization that provides high school students with real world experience in the music industry. Students involved in this extracurricular activity learn the ins and outs of live sound, lighting, event coordination, video production and studio recording. They also get to work with some awesome local bands!
Tune to Jersey Rock on 95.9 The Rat on Tuesday (3/7), Wednesday (3/8) and Thursday (3/9) at 11:30 pm for a LIVE preview of the event. OCVTS Tech Club Advisors Bill Bourke and Zack Slater will be in studio to discuss the event and we'll have in-studio acoustic performances from 3 of the acts involved in the show.
On Tuesday Rose Lees will perform on Jersey Rock. Skyeline will be in studio on Wednesday. We'll close out the week with Jersey Rock veterans and OCVTS Alumni Wicked Hollow rocking the show Thursday night!
Admission to Tech Fest is $10. The money raised from the event is used to provide two student scholarships; one awarded to an Audio Student and one to a Performing Arts Student. The Dennis Bourke Hopes & Dreams Scholarship Fund is dedicated to Audio Program founder Dennis Bourke.
If you cannot attend Tech Fest, but would like to donate to the Dennis Bourke Hopes & Dreams Scholarship Fund you can do so via the scholarhip fund's Go Fund Me page.
