The Hall of Heavy Metal History opens its doors tonight (January 18) in Los Angeles with its first inductees -- a list that includes Ronnie James Dio, Lemmy Killmister, Scorpions, guitarists Randy Rhoads (Ozzy Osbourne, Quiet Riot) and Ross "The Boss" Friedman (Manowar), bassist Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot, Osbourne, Whitesnake) and drummers Vinnie Appice (Black Sabbath, Dio) and Frankie Benali (Quiet Riot), as well as Andy Zildjian, president and CEO of the Sabian Cymbals company, and the famed Rainbow Bar & Grill.
The ceremony takes place in Anaheim, Calif., as part of the National Association Of Music Merchandisers (NAMM) conference.
