Avenged Sevenfold is getting some high-profile help for its world tour in 2017 to support its latest album, The Stage.
Frontman M. Shadows revealed to Metal Hammer that the group is working with designers from Cirque du Soleil to flesh out the science fiction-flavored theme of the album, and he tells us that the group's ambition is a show unlike any other it's ever done:
"It's another thing we're trying to completely reinvent, and I'm not saying we're gonna be the first to do it. There's bands like Muse who do kind of the vibe we're looking for. Tool has always been really good at putting on an experience. We've done so much with the pyro and the flames and the big, over the top, Iron Maidenesque look that we're...trying a new vibe with image mapping and virtual reality type stuff and just build a stage show that works with this album."
A7X hits the road January 7 in Dublin, Ireland, for a European tour, with North American dates expected to be announced soon.
