In Memoriam: Spinal Tap Drummers

So many drummers…so many unique ways to die.  Leave it to the brilliant minds of Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer to make the tragic passing of ALL of Spinal Tap’s drummers into comedy magic.

In a movie with a seemingly endless amount of one-liners, the nearly two-minute scene below has three.

“He died in a bizarre gardening accident.”

“You can’t really dust for vomit.”

“There was a little, green globule on his drum seat.”

R.I.P. John “Stumpy” Pepys, Eric “Stumpy Joe” Childs, Peter “James” Bond and (eventually) Mick Shrimpton.  We hardly knew yee.

There are many hypothesized explanations which account for the various cases of spontaneous human combustion. These generally fall into one of three groups: paranormal explanations ( a ghost or alien caused it), natural explanations that credit some unknown and otherwise unobserved phenomenon ( the production of abnormally concentrated gas or raised levels of blood alcohol cause spontaneous ignition), and natural explanations that involve an external source of ignition.
