Jimmy Page Says Words, People Misconstrue Them
Jimmy Page said in a recent interview with The Telegraph that, “Led Zeppelin isn’t done yet,” which some outlets then splash in a headline in order to get clicks, because some people are completely shameless.
The full quote was, ““Led Zeppelin isn’t done yet, quite clearly, because every year since 1968 there’s been new fans. The re-releases have more than doubled the amount of Led Zeppelin work out there. I wanted it done authoritatively, ’cause I was the one writing the stuff, I was the producer and mixer. I don’t think it’s any more weird than writing your autobiography.”
Of course there’s more fans, because people are constantly being born, and great music never dies. What we wish would die are misleading headlines.
Slipknot Goes Gold
Congrats are in order for Slipknot, whose latest album .5: The Gray Chapter was just certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) marking 500,000 copies sold. Considering how albums are selling nowadays, that’s quite the accomplishment.
