YJY are from Hightstown. Their Fuzz Pop sound incorporates elements of pop rock and punk with a chill, upbeat vibe. There's a real late 1950's/early 1960's feel to their music, though their lyrics have a clear modern edge. Their songs are fun and the band doesn't seem to take themselves too seriously. Their sophomore EP "The Same Noise" is thoroughly enjoyable. It's available via digital download and on CD, Vinyl and even cassette on their bandcamp page.
You catch YJY this Saturday Night at Gold Sounds in Brooklyn. They're also playing The North Jersey Indie Rock Festival at Cathedral Hall in Jersey City on September 10. Admission to that show is only $5. Its all ages and features 2 levels of vendors and 20 local acts including Jersey Rock veterans Rocky and the Chapter
