Rikki Rockett Talks Cancer Treatment

Poison drummer Rikki Rockett is hoping to get some good news in the coming weeks regarding his treatment for tongue cancer.

Rockett spoke with The San Diego Union-Tribune recently and said he’s been undergoing an experimental cancer immune therapy treatment at UC San Diego Morres Cancer Center, to which he said his body responded well.  He’s scheduled for an exam in a couple of weeks, and hopefully at that time, he’ll hear that the tumor on his tongue is completely gone.

We send our best wishes to Rockett and his family and hope to hear some positive news soon!

Pink Floyd Insect

Finally, Pink Floyd have been named to another top 10 list, but it has nothing to do with music.

The State University of New York’s College of the Environmental Science and Forestry has just released their 2016 Top 10 New Species List, and on the list is the Sparklewing, a recently discovered dragonfly/damselfly whose genus/species name is Umma Gumma, which is a reference to the title of the band’s fourth studio album Ummagumma.

In other words:  Those science nerds apparently love themselves some Floyd!
