It goes without saying that Scott Weiland’s passing on December 3rd shook a lot of people in the rock world, and in the days since his death, many musicians have honored the late singer during their shows. Here’s a collection of fan-shot clips that have surfaced on the Internet.
Pop Evil
This video was shot the night after Weiland’s passing at Pop Evil’s show in St. Paul, Minn.
Halestorm
Shot in Auckland, New Zealand, Halestorm also performed “Interstate Love Song.” (Props to Lzzy Hale for belting the hell out of the chorus.)
Chris Cornell
Instead of singing an STP tune, Cornell opted to sing “Say Hello 2 Heaven,” a Temple of the Dog track that was a tribute to Andrew Wood, the Mother Love Bone frontman who died from a heroin overdose in 1990.
Royal Machines ft. Corey Taylor
Just last night, Corey Taylor joined Royal Machines (an all-star cover band featuring Dave Navarro, Billy Morrison, Chris Chaney, Donovan Leitch, Mark McGrath and Josh Freese) on stage at The Roxy and torn up “Sex Type Thing.”
