Good news for Megadeth fans; the group's new lineup is clearly getting closer to releasing the first album with its new lineup.
Frontman Dave Mustaine tweeted over the weekend that he "heard the first pass at an official mix for the song 'The Threat Is Real' that Josh Wilbur did. I'm thrilled he's mixing." Wilbur's production credits include a long association with Lamb of God as well as All That Remains and Gojira.
Mustaine and Toby Wright co-produced the album, which was recorded in Nashville, with Toby Wright. It will be the follow-up to 2013's "Super Collider" and features Lamb of God drummer Chris Adler and Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro.
A title and release date have not yet been announced, but other songs include "Tyrannicide," "The New Emporer," "Poisonous Shadows" and a two-part track called "Conquer...Or Die."
The group also recorded covers of Fear's "Foreign Policy" and Budgie's "Melt the Ice Away," but it's not yet known if those will be on the album.
