New Def Leppard Album Eyeing October Release

For the past year or so, the members of Def Leppard have been talking about their upcoming album but haven’t really given a concrete idea as to when it’s coming out.

Enter guitarist Phil Collen

Collen recently spoke with WAAF in Boston, and he said the album, the band’s first since 2008’s Songs from the Sparkle Lounge, is slated for release in October.

He’s also sticking to his guns on a statement he made back in April on the “One On One With Mitch Lafon” podcast  that he thinks the album is best thing Def Leppard’s done since 1987’s Hysteria, which was mildly successful as far rock albums go.  (Note:  Hysteria sold a whopping 20 million copies worldwide.)

In the meantime, fans can check out the band on tour with Styx and Tesla well into the fall months.
