When the inductors for this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class were revealed last month, the inductor for Joan Jett & the Blackhearts was glaringly omitted, but now, the news is out, and we have a hunch many people will be scratching their heads or worse.
Per the Rock Hall’s website, Miley Cyrus will be doing the honors.
Yes…that Miley Cyrus, and in case you’re wondering, it took about 10-15 minutes for that angry twitch in my eye to stop
While it is presumed the artists have a say in who’s inducting them, this one just doesn’t make sense. I’m not saying Miley isn’t talented. She can legitimately sing and proved so recently when she delivered an incredible cover of Paul Simon’s “50 Ways To Leave Your Lover” on Saturday Night Live’s 40th anniversary special.
This choice just doesn’t feel right the way that the surviving members of The Runaways would have. Better yet, Suzi Quatro (one of Jett’s idols, all-around badass and WAY more than just Leather Tuscadero from Happy Days) would’ve been an incredible choice!
