It may not be a release date, but Maynard James Keenan’s recent update on the progress of Tool’s new album is at the very least promising.
Keenan took to the band’s Facebook page stating he’s “been making regular trips to LA to check on the writing progress of my Tool brethren. Things are progressing nicely. Slowly, but definitely progressing.”
Keenan also noted that none of the new material has been recorded yet but that “You can’t rush these gents. Patience is Gold in this Sound Mine.”
Fans have been waiting for some time now for a follow-up to the 2006 album 10,000 Days, mainly due to lawsuits regarding artwork and insurance disputes. While they will have to do some more waiting, at least they know Tool’s headed in the right direction.
